As our
media and retail partners throughout North America and Europe
prepare for the upcoming holiday season, we are pleased to
report that both the number of those we're privileged to call
partners and the services we're providing continue to grow.
Allow us to share with you a few updates of
interest:
United States:
![]() Chico Enterprise
Record: The Chico Enterprise Record has recently signed an
agreement with Travidia to upgrade their retail offerings on
Chicoer.com.
The initial phase will include Travidia's insert
program, with the Enterprise Record looking to expand the
offerings to other retail and special section opportunities.
We welcome the opportunity to include our home town newspaper
among our market-leading partners, and look forward to growing
revenue opportunities for the Enterprise Record.
Canada:
 CanWest MediaWorks: CanWest MediaWorks is
introducing a comprehensive Integrated Marketplace solution in
all of their 11 daily newspaper markets across Canada
launching prior to the 2004 Holiday Season. These local
"Shopping" products will incorporate a strong emphasis on ROP
up sells, Special Sections, Inserts, and Classified Liners.
The Travidia ROP solution, utilized within the CanWest
MediaWorks "Careerclick" product for their recruitment ads,
will be a key part of their new online careers solution called
"Working," which launched across Canada on October 25th. A few
of the Shopping sites that have gone live recently
are:
Ottawa Citizen Montreal Gazette Edmonton Journal Regina Leader-Post Calgary Herald Saskatoon Star Phoenix
The Windsor Star Victoria Times
Colonist
Europe:
 Hornbach: Hornbach,
the major European home improvement retailer, has successfully
rolled out 3 new country versions of its monthly catalogs with
Travidia, pagination continues to grow with Switzerland
producing bumper 80 page catalogs for November in two
languages. Hornbach's Marketing Director is delighted with
feedback on the Travidia service and is expecting to extend
the relationship with more online content over the coming
months.
Comment: In our previous Travidian, we noted that
we had added greatly expanded market analytics into our
services. Incorporated into that is the capability to conduct
customer surveys tailored to our partners' requirements. In a
rather interesting project that we've just completed, we've
disseminated a pair of 14-question surveys throughout the US
with telling results for our partner. Should you be interested
in such a service for your organization, please let us know.
This is just one of a number of exciting improvements we're
constantly introducing throughout the regional, national, and
international marketplaces for our partners. Our commitment is
to help each of you clearly establish and maintain your
competitive edge!

CanWest Launches First of Several Shopping
Sites
On October
25th CanWest Interactive launched it’s first three Shopping
sites for Ottawa,
Montreal
and Saskatoon.
The sites combine several of Travidia’s key integrated
marketplace products such as print ads, inserts, special
sections and classifieds. The CanWest Shopping sites also
implemented Travidia’s Syndicated Marketplace with newspaper
inserts for The Brick, a popular electronics and furniture
chain throughout Canada.
CanWest
plans to launch sites for Regina,
Edmonton
and Calgary
on November 1st followed by Windsor,
Victoria
and Vancouver on November 8th and The National Post on
November 15th.
In addition to the launch of the Shopping sites for the
CanWest markets, Travidia recently helped launch the Canada
Working sites for all 10 CanWest markets including Victoria,
Vancouver,
Calgary,
Edmonton,
Saskatoon,
Regina,
Windsor,
Toronto,
Ottawa
and Montreal.
Traffic Driver Tips
With the
recent launch of Travidia’s Syndicated Marketplace on several
of our key partner’s websites, it is important that traffic
driver elements now are implemented for maximum exposure.
Travidia has developed several key components to help assist
in driving consumer traffic to the online
marketplace.
The Category Tower allows you to place a list of
dynamically generated links to your marketplace from anywhere
on your website. Simply place the JavaScript code snippet that
Travidia provides you and your website visitors can link
easily to the ad category of their choice. Click
here to request more information.
Ads In
Content (AIC) is now available for all Travidia media
partners. AIC allows you to rotate thumbnail versions of your
ROP ads anywhere on your website. You can set custom
parameters for AIC allowing you to rotate ads from a specific
category or a specific advertiser. This product creates an
excellent up sell opportunity for your advertisers as it
allows you the ability to rotate specific ads for a specific
section of your website. For example, you could rotate ads
from the “Automotive” category on your automotive section of
the website or rotate ads from the “Real Estate” category on
your real estate section of the website. Travidia provides a
variety of AIC custom wrappers to fit your specific needs. Click
here to request more information.
Travidia’s
creative team has come up with several banner ads for use on
our partners’ websites: http://emailmarketing.travidia.com/ct/ct.php?t=59670&c=44368935&m=m&type=1.

Thanks to all of you who have assisted us
in developing and migrating to our new platform. Now that all
Travidia consumer pages are served by our new architecture
platform, we are beginning the fun and exciting phase of
adding capability, starting with a production engine redesign
that will greatly enhance flexibility and capability in
meeting customized demands of the dynamic environment we
serve. Additionally, new creative capability is being added,
as many sites are migrating to and building upon successes,
with more consumer engaging presentations.
Travidia’s
overall strategy is to help newspapers and advertisers
increase their respective brand and franchise values through
adding new consumers and increasing utilization of existing
users.
Through strategic partnership with newspapers and
advertisers, Travidia is continually improving its shopping
channel by adding content, creative services, communications
channels and revenue generating offerings. We are developing
personalization, enhanced search integration and traffic
drivers, such as search engine optimization, to build loyal
consumer usage of the sites we serve.
As new
capabilities are a cooperative effort between Travidia and its
valued advertising and media partners, we are looking for
those progressive companies that have interest in and
bandwidth to develop best-of-breed services. As numerous
projects are underway at the current time, our sales and
business development professionals are engaging those
visionary companies to rollout these services.
If you
have an interest in participating in this type of industry
leading effort, please contact me or James Green or your sales
representative with your desired enhancements or business
need. In the meantime, several new developments are being
established which you may be invited to join in as your
respective teams are available to do so.
There are
a few new initiatives that are designed to serve ROP
advertisers that will require newspaper ROP sales teams to
deploy as value-added services. These excellent new revenue
opportunities will require sales team training and assistance
to make them successful. If your enterprise is looking
for ways to increase revenue and profit in the digital ROP
area, please contact us to discuss participation in the early
phases of these new programs.
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving.
All Travidians give thanks for your support while we have
grown to better serve you.
Sincerely,
John Strisower Chief Executive
